How To Hibachi: Old Bay Salmon

Old Bay & Brown Sugar salmon

Salmon is a quick and easy go to meal.  I typically pull salmon with an internal temp of 145*, just as it begins to flake.  My kids like it more well done, probably aroun 165*.  If you find a bigger cut, you can please everyone with the well done edges and the medium center section.

Ingredient List:

  • 2 to 2-1/2 pound salmon fillet
  • 1/4 C Brown Sugar
  • 4T Old Bay
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • Sesame Oil
  • 1 pat of butter

Instructions:

  1. Prepare medium hot griddle.
  2. Meanwhile, combine brown sugar, Old Bay, and black pepper.
  3. Rub evenly onto salmon fillet.
  4. Oil griddle with ~1T sesame oil and cook salmon for ~10 minutes
  5. Pro Tip: Add water and cover as necessary to steam cook the top of salmon filet
  6. Finish with a pat of butter and pull salmon at an internal temp of 145*, just as it begins to flake.
